| Hi! I'm Mrs Sowood, and I'm in charge of the Lions! I love to read as it allows my imagination to run wild. Outside of school, I enjoy watching football and listening (sometimes singing!) to music. My favourite subject is History because I am curious about how the past has influenced the present; I love to bring this to life in my lessons. | Hi! I’m Miss Benton, and I am so excited to be teaching the Dolphin class this year. Outside of school, I like playing netball and love to see children getting involved in the sport. My favourite subject to teach in school is History as I like to find out interesting facts about the past! I can’t wait for the year to come! |
A very warm welcome from the Year 3 Team. In the team, we have Mrs Sowood, Miss Benton, Mrs Sampson, Miss Briscoe-Bennett, Mrs Hind, Miss Winfield, Mrs Middleton and Mr Long.
This half-term we will be focusing on History, in particular ‘Stone Age to Iron Age Britain'. In Art, we are exploring drawing, which will be linked to our history topic through creating brilliant cave drawings. Our two main English books this half-term are ‘Perfectly Norman’ and ‘The Iron Man’, which we are all so excited to read! We look forward to this half-term with you all.
Important Information
- The school day starts at 8:45am, with the gates being opened at 8:40am.
- School uniform should be worn every day. Place orders on the school app.
- PE days are Monday and Wednesday.
- Children will need to bring their reading diaries and book bags every day. Friday is when we look at reading diaries and count reads for our Sharley Reading Raffle for Friday’s assembly. - We have specific days for our library day, so make sure to check Class Dojo for when this is. This is where the children will swap their books.
