Forest School

Our day at St Modwen Homes.

Forest School 2017 is now in full swing.
Forest School children have been involved in designing a garden for the new show home on the St Modwen Homes Estate. The winning team will visit the site and help to bring their design to life as the garden to the show house. 
We have enjoyed making fairy houses and plan to sell these later this spring.

Campfire cooking at Forest School, we enjoyed hotdogs and fried onions. Followed by rhubarb grown on the site and custard! Yummy. 

We have been learning about the safe siting, lighting and extinguishing of fires.

Our seeds are now in and we are hoping to grow a variety of crops this year;

Pumpkins, peas, beetroot, carrots, courgettes and radishes. 

We have been learning tool talks and the safety procedures for the bow saw, loppers, bill hook and sheath knife. 
At Forest School we made Mayan warrior masks using mud and natural materials. In the process we also became mud warriors!!!
